We are undertaking activities to selectively recruit leaders with the right qualities into the International League of Ethical Financial Services Leaders. For example, through the large and fast-growing international network of Transparency Task Force members, we have been stimulating introductions to leaders with an established track record of running organisations in an ethical manner. Furthermore, we are receiving recommendations to individuals that may be suitable from outside our network, which is very encouraging.
We expect this initiative to grow and flourish quickly; but we will always focus on quality rather than quality, because the initiative is only as strong as the credibility, integrity and authenticity of its weakest member.
It is therefore mission-critical that we have a robust selection process for new members.
Any member of the League and member of the Secretariat Committee may nominate an individual to be invited to become a member.
Decisions about which individuals are invited to become members of the League are made by the Selection Committee, which is made up of members of the League’s Secretariat Committee and the members themselves.
The Selection Committee will be free to draw on any knowledge, insight and due diligence about an individual being considered for selection as it deems appropriate.
Wherever possible, the Selection Committee will make its decision about the potential suitability of a new member before the individual is invited to engage with activities such as being the subject of a leadership video interview.
